Comedian Matt Dyktynski takes lead in Australian feature film, 'Wil' set for release in the second half of 2006.

Matt Dyktynski is returning to Australia next month during the Sydney and Melbourne comedy festivals for a series of stand up comedy performances.

Rapidly becoming a favourite on the London stand up comedy circuit, Matt is keen to share his talents with his home audiences on the eve of his next feature film, Wil , due for release in the second half of 2006.

In the lead title role of ‘Wil', Matt explores the idea that irrespective of what's going on around us we are often so consumed by our own thoughts nothing else seems to exist. Set totally inside a lift, this surrealistic, off-beat comedy is already being favourably compared with Phone Booth .

Wil Director Jeremy Weinstein first met Dyktynski at Cannes film festival in 2003 when Japanese Story, starring Toni Colette and featuring Dyktynski, was invited in the Un Certain Regard category. “I immediately knew he was my Wil,” he said. “Matt is one of the finest comic actors in the industry.”

Matt Dyktynski is a graduate of NIDA and has worked extensively in film, theatre and television in Australia . On stage, he is a regular with the Sydney and Melbourne Theatre Companies. His impressive list of film credits includes Love and Other Catastrophes, Japanese Story, Road to Nhill and The Referees. Television audiences will recognise him from roles in Raw FM, Shock Jock, The Secret Life of Us, Halifax, Something in the Air, Blue Heelers, Stingers, Water Rats and The Man from Snowy River .
